I’m Hope—the owner + lead designer of Wrong Number Floral Co.

Wrong Number Floral Co. is a woman-owned floral design studio specializing in colorful weddings and events in the Eugene, Oregon area + beyond.

Whether you are planning an elopement, large wedding, celebrating a birthday, or hosting an event for your own small business, I would love to bring the joy of fresh floral design to your space.

Let’s get to know each other! Here’s a little bit about me.

  • With 6 years of experience in the floral industry, I’ve created for events of all shapes and sizes.

I have experience in several realms of floristry: weddings + events, retail, subscriptions, flower farming, and even the DIY distribution industry (aka, I helped people DIY their flowers).

Currently, I am focused on wedding floristry with Wrong Number, and I also work a few days per week at a local flower farm with people I really admire and love collaborating with.

I started out in the floral industry self-taught, but I’ve had the privilege to learn from many incredible florists and business owners over the years. From 1:1 sessions, online trainings, group workshops, freelance, and so much more. It’s all made me a better florist and vendor.

I’m dedicated to always furthering my floral education, and I’m a proud member of Flowering Minds Education.

  • Where to start, where to start?…

    • Chronic resting b*tch face, but I’m friendly—promise!

    • Animal obsessed + cat mom of 3

    • Annoying on a hike because I talk about flowers + plants too much (aspiring nature guide?)

    • Enneagram 4—so always striving to be anything but “normal”

    • Playful with a bit of a dark sense of humor

    • Love all things mid-century modern

    • I feel things deeply (as an artist does)

    • Have a Bachelors in Health + Exercise Science, but always down for dessert + not working out

    • Can probably eat an endless amount of sushi

    • 🏳️‍🌈

  • My passion is creating artfully designed florals that bring joy and life to your space. I get most excited over designs that break away from the traditional, embrace exciting color combinations, + feel like a living sculpture.

Playfulness is a core value over here. Work, life, and design should be fun. Not to mention, good design requires a heavy dose of play and character.

Ultimately, I want Wrong Number to be a cozy place to dream, get weird, and to be totally yourself. Because of this, I approach event design with a lot of intention to make each design feel unique to the people it’s celebrating.

It’s also vitally important to me that people feel welcome + advocated for by me and my team. We party with all races, ethnicities, sexualities, genders, sizes, religions, and so on. If you’re a kind human—you’re welcome and wanted here.

I’m dedicated to learning + doing my best by you, and I’d love to celebrate with you on your most special days.

  • Our Sustainability Promise

Nature is our medium, and we promise to do our best to nurture and respect it throughout our processes.

Here’s how we’re doing that right now.

  • Product Sourcing

Flowers are seasonal, and it’s one of our favorite things about our craft.

We source as many of our flowers and foliage as possible from local growers. We know many of these farmers on a personal level (I work part time at a sustainably-focused flower farm, actually!), and we love supporting organically (or at least responsibly) grown flowers from small business owners who are doing business in a way that we love and support.

We use imported or shipped product very selectively and we strategize to use it very minimally (if at all).

  • Mechanics / Supplies

We are always trying out new mechanics and methods of designing that are more sustainable and reusable.

We do not use floral foam. (If you see us using a block as a structure—it’s a fully decomposable substitute for traditional floral foam! We would love to tell you more about it.)

Here are some common supplies we reuse time and time again:

    • Vases / Containers

    • Chicken Wire

    • Pin Frogs

    • Hydration Containers for Wearables

    • Water Tubes

    • Pop-Up Trash Can (it’s made out of tarp material + we wash it between events!)

We also use natural materials such as moss, sticks, and rocks for our structures.

  • Waste Disposal

All of our natural materials (flowers, foliage, moss, etc.) are composted or dried for repurposing. This is why we always pick up our flowers at the end of your event so they can be disposed of properly.

There are some items that are single-use, and we use them thoughtfully and minimally. They are disposed of properly in the trash. These items are: glue dots, floral glue, floral tape, and zip ties.

We are always experimenting with alternatives so that we can minimize our waste.
